DEFINITION: Under close supervision, performs various unskilled and semi-skilled tasks, such as maintaining roads, pipeline systems, and other related infrastructures.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: This position is intended to facilitate the accomplishment of District workload requirements. Employees in this position are given close supervision and do not perform the more skilled assignments.

DEFINITION: Positions in this series operate diesel and gasoline-powered heavy mobile equipment for the District.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: The Equipment Operator is the journey/lead worker class in this series and under supervision, operates diesel and gasoline powered heavy mobile equipment for the District including, but not limited to: water tanker, backhoe, dirt compactor, excavator, loader, flat bed, fuel truck and directional bore rig machine.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Two (2) years of full-time experience on equipment, such as backhoe, skip loader, directional bore rig, and vacuum equipment.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: This position requires that the incumbents possess a Water Distribution Operator Grade D2 certificate and must complete the appropriate amount of continuing education hours as required by the State of California to maintain the certification. Failure to obtain and maintain the appropriate credentials may constitute a cause for termination. Competent person Certification.

DEFINITION: This position is responsible for the construction, repair, and maintenance of the underground pipeline system in the District.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: The Lead is under the close supervision of the Field Supervisor, Assistant General Manager, Office Manager, and General Manager. Incumbents work as a member of a crew involved in the maintenance, repair, and/or construction of the underground pipeline systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: One (1) year of full-time experience in the position of Maintenance Worker in Florin County Water District service performing duties have included repairing, maintaining, or constructing underground pipeline systems.
